Privacy policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
Pennywurth is run by Obakeng Mosadi in South Africa. In this policy, "we" means Pennywurth and Obakeng Mosadi, who is responsible for your personal information.
This policy explains what we collect on pennywurth.app, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to everyone who uses the site, wherever you live.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- Technical information that every request to our server includes: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type. Our server writes it to its logs.
- One cookie, described in Cookies.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't collect anything else.
Why we use it
- We use your email address to tell you when Pennywurth opens. We do this because you asked us to by joining the waitlist. That's your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- We use technical information to keep the site running and secure. For example, we use your IP address for three minutes to stop anyone from submitting the waitlist form too many times. That's our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
We don't sell your information, share it with advertisers or use it to train AI models.
Where it's stored and who can see it
- Our server is hosted by netcup GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany. It stores the waitlist and the server logs.
- GitHub keeps a copy of each waitlist email address as a comment on an issue in a private repository, which only Pennywurth's maintainers can see. GitHub, Inc. is based in the United States, so this copy is stored there. GitHub explains how it handles data in its privacy statement.
We disclose personal information to authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your email address until we email the waitlist to say Pennywurth has opened. Within 30 days after that, we delete it from our server and from GitHub, unless you've signed up for Pennywurth. If you ask us to remove you sooner, we will.
- Server logs are capped at 10 MB, so older entries are deleted as new ones arrive.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy
- correct it
- delete it, including removing you from the waitlist
- stop or limit how we use it
Email mosadiobakeng7@gmail.com and we'll answer within 30 days. It's free. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on the waitlist.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to a data protection authority. In South Africa, that's the Information Regulator. Elsewhere, contact the authority where you live.
Cookies
We set one cookie, _pennywurth_session. It protects the waitlist form from forged submissions and carries the message you see after you join. Your browser deletes it when you close the browser. The site can't work without it, so we don't ask for consent. We don't use any other cookies.
Children
Pennywurth isn't meant for anyone under 16. If you're under 16, please don't join the waitlist. If you think a child has given us their email address, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site only works over HTTPS, and only Pennywurth's maintainers can access the server and the GitHub repository. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee that your information will never be exposed.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll email the waitlist before it takes effect.
